Chiropractic Adjustments:
Chiropractic adjustments can be applied to any joint in the body. The benefits of adjustments are an immediate improvement in range of motion and decrease or elimination of pain. Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to be just as effective as anti-inflammatory medication for relieving pain and improving flexibility.
Kinesiology Taping:
Kinesiology taping is used to increase tissue healing. The elasticity of the tape allows a lift in the skin which increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage, two things essential for tissue healing. It also re-educates the neuromuscular system, enhances performance, and prevents injury.
Dry Needling:
Dry needling treats muscle tissue, and its goal is to reduce pain, inactivate trigger points and restore function. Dry needling can be used for a wide variety of musculoskeletal issues, such as shoulder, neck, heel, hip and back pain.
Myofascial Release/ Muscle Work
This is a soft tissue movement based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Myofascial release also can minimize recovery time and maximize function after an injury.
Performance Rehabilitation:
Core and extremity strength and stability are incredibly important for athletes to prevent injury and perform at their best. Providing patients with the educational tools needed to fulfill long term maintenace of their body is a core belief at Active Health. Every patient is given an individualzed stretching and strengthening routine to speed recovery time and prevent injury.
Deep Tissue Laser Therapy:
Deep tissue laser therapy directs very specific light waves into your body to stimulate healing. Soothing therapeutic laser waves penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the cells of the tissues below. Your cells then convert this light energy into chemical energy to accelerate healing- in a similar way that plants use light energy for photosynthesis. Cold laser is also used to decrease pain & swelling.
